The ferrule supports the carbide lag bolt insert, making this the strongest and most reliable wooden hiking stick available (see the exploded detail shots). Max length is about 57 or 58" but let us know if you'd like it shorter. We can cut to any shorter length. It'll take less than a week to ship.
