The Tanken wooden practice knife is available in 2 quality grades. At 12" inch overall length, the tanken and follows the specialized shape of the Iwama school with its characteristically simple lines and blunt point. With a strong, decisive feel like the Iwama long sword and short sword, the tanken is made with a accurate oval hilt (tsuka) blending into a three sided blade back (mitsumune) and terminating with a 10 deg blunt point (kissaki).
