Made from exceptionally strong Appalachian hickory, the Kingfisher self defense cane combines a wooden walking cane design with features drawn from defensive staffs. Each cane is made from quality grade L7 hickory and includes an attached tungsten carbide tip with a clear rubber tip that fits over it. Choose your length, one of three colors, and an optional weight-loaded handle.
Walking cane handle and staff design
The handle is shaped for a comfortable walking grip and has substantial mass, resembling a wooden mallet rather than a ball or knob. The design shares some conceptual similarities with a shillelagh, but uses a different handle shape. Optional weight loading increases the mass in the handle.
Choosing your cane length
The default length is 34 inches, but this may not be the right fit for you. As a general sizing guide, measure from the ground to your wrist bone while standing upright in a relaxed position. Ask someone to help with the measurement, and refer to the sizing image above before choosing from the length menu.
Tungsten carbide tip and rubber cover
Each cane includes an attached tungsten carbide tip and a clear rubber tip that fits over the carbide tip.
Optional weight-loaded handle
A 3/4-inch hole bored into the handle is filled with lead shot bound in an epoxy matrix. This adds approximately 3 ounces to the handle, changing the cane’s balance and feel. The lead is enclosed within the cured epoxy.
The lead-loading option is not available for shipments to California.

The hiking stick lanyard fits the Self Defense Cane and can be added as an option.
