While the proportions of this kenjutsu bokken, with 12" tsuka (handle) and 33" blade may seem unusual, it's used in several specialized kenjutsu schools. Made of extremely tough enhanced Appalachian hickory and despite two character mark defects, would be an excellent working weapon for those requiring a bokken of these dimensions. Super smooth finish, ultra dense, medium to slender proportions, the side to side straightness is excellent but as you can see, the curvature is a bit straight in the blade section. Still, it's got a great feel and the wood integrity is top notch. I'd say this weapon's beauty might be in the eye of the beholder but then again, whatever drawbacks it has might only be noticeable to one looking carefully. 40% off the regular price.
