The highly specialized bokken of the Kashima Shin Ryu鹿島神流 is heavy with a pronounced forward balance but this enhanced version is exceptional in all regards. At a stunning 2lb 5oz, it's as heavy as a live blade. The wood has pronounced character with a wild mix of speckles, colors and tiger stripe patterns but for all that, it's extremely strong and dense, perfectly suited to the heavy inertial style of the Kashima school. This is the ultimate version of the Kashima Ryu bokken and probably one of the nicest coming from the Kingfisher shop. For traditional users, choose either bamboo or leather tsuba as an option - the Kashima style always uses a tsuba!
