This Waxwood stick, cut to bokken proportions, was made in the 1990s by Obata Toshishiro Kaiso, movie star, founder of Shinkendo, and a direct samurai descendent. Waxwood is known for its strength and shock resistance. Kingfisher had regular contact with the Shinkendo Honbu Dojo.
