Made from exceptionally strong Appalachian hickory, the Kingfisher wooden hiking stick includes an installed tungsten carbide tip. Choose a custom length, one of two diameters, and one of two quality grades to suit your preferred reach and feel.
A straight wooden staff for changing terrain
A straight, uniform staff lets you adjust your hand position as the trail changes. Grasp it higher or lower for the reach you prefer when climbing or descending, and switch freely between hands. Appalachian hickory combines exceptional strength with the natural character of wood.
Choosing your hiking stick length
The shortest and default length is 50 inches. A longer staff may be preferable depending on your height and how you use it. Read our guide to choosing a hiking stick size before selecting your length.
Choosing a diameter
The 15/16-inch diameter has a slender feel and is intended to be light and fast. The 1-inch diameter provides a slightly thicker, medium-girth grip. Choose according to the feel you prefer in your hand.
Carbide tip included
An installed carbide tip is included with the hiking stick.
Staff design and tradition
Many Kingfisher staff designs draw on the Japanese jo, a wooden staff associated with martial traditions and a legendary duel with Japan’s most celebrated swordsman. Explore the history in The Wooden Staff of Japan.
