This hand carved Iwama bokken has an even light tan streak along the omote (facing) side with outstanding shape and balance. Characteristic of the Iwama style, it's relatively stout with a forward balance and blunt kissaki (point). Our hand cut products are made entirely without the use of abrasives or sandpaper. This lends not only a unique look of authentic, pre-industrial woodwork but also an exceptional feeling of torsional grip. The inscription reads "tamashi" (soul, spirit).
